Vehicular movement along the Khurkot-Nepalthok road section of the BP Highway has been obstructed after the road caved in near Trivenighat, Sitalpati VDC-9 in Sindhuli district on Sunday night. According to SP Uma Shankar Panjiyar of the District Police Office, Sindhuli, the incident occurred at around 11 pm last night. He informed that around 30 metre stretch of the road have collapsed into the Sunkoshi River. As there are no alternative routes, hundreds of vehicles leaving for Kathmandu from Sindhuli and vice versa have been stranded since yesterday night. The District Administration Office (DAO) has issued a notice to the concerned transport entrepreneurs to inform the small and large vehicles heading towards Kathmandu to stay off the road for the time being.
