Cadres of agitating Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) torched a bus carrying the CPN-UML cadres at Udharapur, Nepalgunj on Tuesday. The Morcha cadres torched the bus (Bhe 1 Kha 2042) ferrying UML supporters to Nepalgunj for the party’s Mechi-Mahakali Campaign, according to police. Though there has been no casualty or injury, the SLMM cadres vandalised some vehicles. The agitating SLMM have called for a strike in the district in bid to foil the main opposition’s campaign. They have also barred some other vehicles booked to ferry UML supporters from Sonpur and Udharapur.Meanwhile, a large number of security personnel have been deployed to stop any untoward incidents after the Saptari incident. Likewise, the UML has shifted their mass meeting venue from Ramleela Maidaan to Road Division Office due to Morcha’s obstruction. -
